Instructions
- Gather youth into a circle.
- Tell youth they will count off one at a time as they go around the circle.
- Say, "If your number is a 3, a multiple of 3, or ends in a 3, then you need to CLAP as you say your number."
- Demonstrate clapping and saying a few of the above '3' numbers.
- Ask, "Are you ready?"
- Say, "Let's go around the circle as we count up to 50!"
- Lead the group in counting up to 50.
- Congratulate everyone for their efforts.
- Ask, "Who's ready for another challenge?"
- Say, "We will continue counting and clapping for our '3' numbers as we go up to 100. But now we will add in 5's! If your number is a 5, a multiple of 5, or ends in a 5, STOMP as you say your number."
- Demonstrate stomping and saying a few of the above '5' numbers.
- Ask, "Do you think we can stomp and clap our way from 50 all the way to 100 without making any mistakes?"
- Have youth resume their counting at 50 up to 100.
- Congratulate the group for their efforts once they reach 100.
- Lead a reflection by asking:
- Was that easier or more difficult as we kept counting?
- What was the most difficult thing about that challenge?
- What would you change if you played this game again?
