Use this exercise to allow youth to interact one-on-one with several members in a short period of time.
Divide participants into two even groups.
Assign one group to be the inner circle, and the other to be the outer circle.
Have members of the inner circle face outward toward those of the outer circle.
Ensure each young person is standing across from another participant – their partner. If there is an uneven number of participants, assign one group of three.
Pose a question, and give partners time to discuss the answer among themselves.
Facilitator Note: You may choose to select questions from the Conversations section of the Session Quality tab.
Call for the group to switch: The inner circle stays in place, while the outer circle moves one place to the right.
Pose another question, and give new partners time to discuss the answer.
Continue this activity for several rounds, or until the original partners meet each other again, if time permits.
