Instructions
- Instruct children sit in a circle.
- Say, "Today we will play a game called Duck, Duck, What? I'll pick one of you to get up and to walk around the circle. As you do, tap each person's shoulder saying 'Duck' each time. Finally, switch to a different animal. If you're the person tagged with a word besides 'Duck,' then you need to get up and chase the person that tagged you while acting like that animal. The person who tagged you will sit down in the open spot you left in the circle. And then you become the tagger."
- Demonstrate being the tagger and complete one round of the game.
- Ask, "Does anyone have any questions? Are you ready to play the game?"
- Play the game for several rounds, until children release some of their busy energy.
