Instruct children to sit or lie down in a designated area.
Designate one child to be a “pumpkin buyer” and another to be a “pumpkin seller.”
Explain the rules of the game:
The seller will pick a person to be their pumpkin, but they won’t tell anybody who that person is.
The buyer will ask the seller a series of yes or no questions to find out who the pumpkin is. (For example: Pumpkin seller, pumpkin seller, is your pumpkin wearing red?)
The seller will respond to each question with a ‘Yes’ or ‘No.’
The buyer can guess who the pumpkin is when they are ready.
If the buyer is right, he or she becomes the seller, and the pumpkin becomes the buyer.
Ask if anyone has any questions before we begin.
Exclaim, “Ready? Begin!”
Supervise game play for a couple of rounds, as time permits.
Instruct youth to find their seats.
Ask the following questions to allow youth to reflect on their time together.
